This page explains what the site stores in your browser and why. We describe it in detail because that is more useful than a generic list.
What they are
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser to remember something from one page to the next. This site also uses local storage, which does something similar but is not sent with every request to the server.
What the site stores on its own
These are technical: they identify no one and simply make the site behave sensibly.
· The language you chose, so we don't ask again.
· The dates and number of guests you typed into the search box, so you don't have to repeat them.
· Whether you already sent an enquiry or already saw a notice, so it isn't shown again in the same visit.
· A conversation identifier, if you opened the concierge chat, so the thread isn't lost when you change page.
· A session identifier that is cleared when you close your browser.
Measurement
We use Google Analytics to know how many people visit the site, which pages are useful and where visitors come from. Google sets its own cookies to tell visits apart. We do not use this to identify you, but to understand aggregate behaviour and improve the site.
Third parties
When a page shows the location map, Instagram content or the booking engine, those services may set their own cookies, which the hotel does not control. They are governed by the policies of Google, Meta and the engine provider respectively.
How to turn them off
You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings, and you can also use private browsing. If you block the technical ones the site will still work, but you will have to choose the language and retype your dates on every visit.
For Google measurement you can also install the opt-out add-on that Google itself provides for its analytics.
